HUMAN NURTURE COUNSELING

THERAPY FOR NEW & EXPECTANT PARENTS

Are you a parent, pregnant or thinking about starting a family?

You're the kind of person who's always been curious, capable, and up for the next adventure.

But, you're feeling lost in this stage.

The anxiety that won't quiet down. The grief that catches you off guard. The anger you don't feel like you're allowed to have. And underneath all of it, the immense love and hopefulness that make you feel more vulnerable than you've ever felt before. You are determined to break old cycles, show up with presence and purpose, and remain a whole person outside of parenthood.

But maybe you find yourself thinking:

Why is this harder than I thought?!

A SPACE FOR YOU

I work with folks entering parenthood who want to explore and expand into new versions of themselves.

Honoring all the versions of you that brought you here, and moving into parenthood with intention.

Values-Based Therapy for Parents

In our work together, we'll get curious about the attachment patterns and values that shape how you parent, using them as a compass to build confidence and release guilt and shame. We'll also develop regulation tools to help you respond to moments of stress with more presence and less reactivity. And we'll explore who you are outside of parenthood - integrating this new identity with all the parts of you that existed before.

preparing for birth and parenthood

The journey to parenthood - (whether you're trying to conceive, planning for pregnancy, or already expecting) can be as emotionally complex as it is physically demanding. Therapy offers support for the anxiety, grief, relationship changes, and identity shifts that can surface at every stage of this transition, including all the "what ifs" that come with it.

Postpartum SUPPORT

The postpartum period can feel overwhelming, isolating, and full of uncertainty. If you’re experiencing postpartum anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or simply wondering “Is this normal?” — you’re not alone. Therapy provides a steady space to process identity shifts, reduce feelings of overwhelm, and build your confidence as a parent.

Groups

I offer virtual and in-person groups for those who are pregnant, postpartum, or navigating the early years of parenthood, designed to honor the whole person behind the parent role. Whether in a supportive community setting or a more structured therapy group format, these spaces offer connection and shared experience. Reach out to learn more about upcoming groups!

Processing your birth story

Perhaps birth or the recovery process felt traumatic, chaotic, or was not what you expected. You may still feel anxiety, panic, anger or sadness when you think about the experience. In therapy, you will be given the space to process and make meaning from your story at your own pace. I also offer EMDR to help your nervous system reprocess distressing moments so they no longer feel overwhelming.

Couples Therapy

The transition to parenthood is one of the most profound shifts a relationship can experience. Couples therapy offers a supportive space to slow conflict cycles, improve communication, rebuild intimacy, and address resentment. I also often invite partners into individual sessions to explore ways to increase support and connection.
